L-Tron holds food drive for Rochester FoodLink.
This past December, L-Tron held a food drive to support local Rochester non-profit, FoodLink. The L-Tron team rallied together and filled three large boxes with non-perishable food items, to support those in need around the area. Although L-Tron began their food drive after Thanksgiving, their goal was ultimately to replenish pantry losses from the holidays.
What is FoodLink?
Foodlink is a local Rochester non-profit, with the goal of using food to end hunger and build stronger/healthier communities. Foodlink started over 40 years ago, and helps communities in Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Orleans, Ontario, Seneca, Wyoming, Wayne & Yates counties. One of their greatest programs is the curbside market. This is Foodlink’s mobile farmers market and is open throughout the year – traveling to over 70 sites and providing access to fresh food. Foodlink also works with area food retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and volunteers to acquire, sort, and redistribute food to soup kitchens, shelters and other emergency food pantries throughout the area.

- The Lexington Farm
- Nutrition Education
- Food Bank Programs
- The Mobile Pantry
- The BackPack Program
Over 200,000 people in the greater Rochester region rely on food from the FoodLink network.
How can you help?
Any contribution, no matter how small, helps FoodLink provide meals to those in need. Those interested in giving can donate money, donate food, or simply volunteer time to help sort and redistribute food. More information can be found here, at the FoodLink website.
