According to the Charlotte Observer, New York City is in the midst of a modern spin on the traditional Easter egg hunt: The Faberge Big Egg Hunt. Throughout the city, there are 275 egg sculptures hidden, each about 2 1/2 feet tall and designed by famous artists and designers, which the public will hunt for using a free smartphone application. The hunt is ongoing from April 1-17, 2014 and then the eggs will be on display at Rockefeller Center from April 18-25, before they are auctioned off for charity.
