John Presents at the IAI Conference in Reno NV

L-Tron will attend the 60th Annual Florida division of the IAI Forensic Educational Training Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL from October 20-23, 2019. Retired crime scene investigator John Dobies will be presenting his case study, entitled “How 360-degree Spherical Photography Assisted in a Hunting-Related Shooting Fatality Investigation” on Wednesday, October 22nd. This was talk was presented at the International IAI Conference in Reno, NV earlier this year. The L-Tron team will also be exhibiting and demonstrating how OSCR360 is used throughout the conference. You can meet OSCR and the team at booth #50.

John Dobies is a retired NYS Environmental Conservation Officer and current member of L-Tron’s Law Enforcement Support Team. He has three decades of experience investigating crimes at misdemeanor and felony levels. His presentation will focus on a 2017 case in which a woman was fatally shot by a hunter while walking her dogs. During the shooting investigation, Dobies utilized 360-degree photography first to capture evidence at the crime scene, and then utilized the OSCR360 software during the grand jury trial, when he was called to testify multiple times. Dobies used the OSCR software to clearly show jurors what the scene looked like as he described the chain of events surrounding the shooting, leaving nothing left to the imagination.

OSCR360 is a multifaceted tool, purpose-built from the voice of law enforcement and government organizations to identify and outline the facts of a case. Comprised of software and hardware components, the OSCR system quickly and easily documents crime scenes, then ties all digital evidence together in a comprehensive presentation. OSCR360 has been adopted in 28+ states and hundreds of agencies, including Austin Police Department, Boston Police Department, and Orange County, Florida Sheriff’s Office.

“We have been hearing wonderful testimonials about OSCR360 from officers all over the country. We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue educating law enforcement officers in Florida and nearby states at the upcoming Florida IAI conference. There are countless benefits that our 360-degree photography software has to offer, from crime scene and arson investigation to natural disaster documentation to incident pre-planning and so much more. In fact, users are alerting us to new applications for OSCR on a regular basis!”
