Paying Tribute to Fallen Officers

Police Week was established over 60 years ago, annually honoring Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. This year, National Police Week will occur from May 12 – May 18. While the national observances will occur in Washington, D.C., communities all over the country will pay their respects to these brave men and women in blue during Police Week.

The National Police Week 2024 events in Washington, D.C. are scheduled to include the following:

  • Opening ceremonies
  • A 5K race
  • Two memorial services; one for fallen Officers and one for fallen K-9s
  • A candlelight vigil
  • Honor Guard and Pipe Band competitions
  • A survivors’ conference for adults
  • Various activities for the children and teens of fallen Officers

Tens of thousands of visitors, from participating Officers to family survivors, are expected to attend National Police Week 2024. For a complete schedule of events, visit https://www.policeweek.org/schedule.html.

Honoring Law Enforcement in your own community

Paying tribute to the fallen and honoring current members of the Thin Blue Line doesn’t necessarily require a visit to the nation’s capital. There are many ways you can share your appreciation within your own community. Consider stopping by headquarters with some snacks for the Officers on duty, writing a few notes of appreciation, or even simply saying, “Thank you for your service,” when you pass an Officer on the street.

Here at L-Tron, we take every opportunity to Back the Blue. We partner with the Law Enforcement community on a daily basis, providing technology and equipment to help Officers perform their jobs more efficiently and safely. We employ retired Officers on our Law Enforcement Support Team to provide round-the-clock service and support. Throughout the year, our Team travels nationwide providing training and supporting dozens of law enforcement agencies. We also attend law enforcement conferences and events across the country.

A few reflections from the newest members of L-Tron’s Team

Even L-Tron’s most recent hires are proud to be part of a team that supports Police Officers day in and day out.

“Prior to L-Tron, my experiences with Law Enforcement were limited. When I recently had the opportunity to attend a Law Enforcement educational conference, I was really able to see how our work supports Officers. It was awesome to meet Officers in person at the conference and hear about how happy they have been to work with our company. I like being part of a company that can make Officer’s lives easier, and keep them safer too!”

Gab

“I talk to Officers on a regular basis and have found that they’re so down to earth and honest, just living their lives like the rest of us. It’s rewarding for me to be able to work with them and help give them the tools they need to help others during their routine, everyday shifts.”

Ben

“Although my role at L-Tron consists mainly of processing orders and answering phones, I do have the privilege of speaking with Officers frequently. I enjoy being able to give back to the community by helping to equip Officers with the tools they need to do their jobs.”

Skylar
From all of us at L-Tron, we’d like to thank each and every one of the Police Officers across our nation. We appreciate you!

Remembering the Fallen: Officer Michael Jensen and Lieutenant Michael Hoosock

As a Western New York company, our hearts are especially heavy this year as we mourn the lives of Officer Michael Jensen (Syracuse PD) and Lieutenant Michael Hoosock (Onondaga County SO), who were tragically killed in the line of duty in April of this year. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of these brave and honorable men.
