We are pleased to welcome Ryan Gomez, the most recent addition to the L-Tron team. Ryan joins us as a Media Specialist, with a strong background in video creation and communications. In addition to making videos, Ryan will contribute to L-Tron’s social media, email campaigns, blogging, and other content creation. We all look forward to getting to know him better in the coming months.

A Unique – and Magical – Background

Though Ryan earned a communications degree and has many years of experience in the marketing profession, one could argue that much of his real experience has been self-taught. Case in point, Ryan has his own YouTube channel, which he started about 5 years ago. As I sat down to chat with Ryan, he told me about the channel, Magic Arcanum, which shares the stories behind trading card games, including Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and Star Wars: Unlimited. With hard work and excellent content creation, his channel has gained an impressive 80,000 subscribers!

Ryan first picked up a set of Magic cards in 1997 to make friends in the cafeteria after seeing another middle schooler shuffling his own deck of cards. As an adult, he pursued his passion by playing at his local store and collecting the cards he couldn’t afford in his youth. Now, he plays weekly, travels to special events when he can, and enjoys spending time with people who share his passion from all around the country.

Family Game Time

In conjunction with his passion for Magic, Ryan continues to have a passion for filmmaking, which he developed in college and has carried to his new role at L-Tron. Today, he enjoys watching all sorts of movies in his home theater with his wife. His most recent New Year’s resolution was to watch 52 movies in 2024 that he had never seen before. Believe it or not, Ryan’s daughter is even named after a strong and brave mythological character from a favorite television show!

Aside from Magic and filmmaking, Ryan enjoys comedy, performing, playing tabletop board games, and reading science fiction and fantasy novels. He’s been part of musical theater productions, show choir and was the youngest person to make it onto his high school improv team.

It’s All about Quality, not Quantity

As Ryan and I chatted, I discovered that one of Ryan’s biggest pet peeves is when social media posts click-bait and AI-generated content. He explains that these days, it’s hard to find meaningful, trustworthy content filled with real information on the internet. For that reason, he prides himself on creating valuable content for his own channel – and we know we can count on him for quality content creation here at L-Tron.

Be sure to check our social media outlets and website to see what he has in store for us!
