Christmas Eve was a tragic day for our community. In the early hours of the morning, firefighters in Webster, NY rushed to the scene of a fire on Lake Road. These men were met with hostile gunfire and two of the brave men were killed at the scene. Seven homes were destroyed and several other first responders were injured.
Our greater Rochester community is devastated that such an unthinkable tragedy occurred right in our own backyard and that one of our suburbs has made the national news because of it. At L-Tron, we are in shock and disbelief that our community has lost two honorable men.
Lt. Michael "Chip" ChiapperiniOne of the deceased firefighters, Michael Chiapperini, was also a Police Lieutenant. Over the years, L-Tron had the opportunity to work with Lt. Chiapperini on numerous occasions. It was truly a pleasure to work with the Lieutenant, as he was incredibly dedicated and committed to serving his community. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with Lt. Chiapperini’s family and the other families affected by this tragedy.
We would like to express our gratitude to the courageous Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders in our community and throughout the nation. We work with countless first responders across the country on a daily basis and know these men and women to be courageous and selfless, putting their lives on the line time after time to help others.
With sincerest appreciation, we thank you for your service and dedication.
